Iredell Community Remembrance Project

Truth. Healing. Reconciliation.

The Iredell Community Remembrance Project (ICRP) is dedicated to truth-telling, education, and racial justice. We seek to honor the lives lost to racial and terror violence, acknowledge the impact of lynching in Iredell County, and inspire collective healing through historical truth and community engagement.

The Historical Maker

The ICRP Historical Marker will be placed at a significant location in Iredell County to recognize the documented lynching of Charles Campbell in 1883. This marker is a public acknowledgment of history, a call to remembrance, and a commitment to justice.

Listen to Bryan Stevenson, Director of EJl, explains why we need to address America’s legacy of racial terror.
